Entering the third year of its first generation, Ascent rolls into 2021 with some notable additions to its base trim level. Here's a quick look at what's new.
What's New for the 2021 Subaru Ascent?
- Enhanced Technology: For the 2021 model year, the Ascent upgrades its standard adaptive cruise control to the new Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control (AACC). This system integrates Lane-Centering technology, giving Ascent a hands-on automated driving experience. AACC automatically maintains a preset distance from the vehicle in front of you and provides steering support to keep Ascent centered in the lane.
- Adaptive Headlights: The 2021 Ascent also adds steering-responsive LED headlights to the standard features list. Previously reserved for Limited and Touring models, these headlights turn with the steering wheel, providing better illumination through curves and around corners.
- Automatic High Beams (AHB): This convenient feature also moves from the Limited trim to standard equipment. The AHB system detects brake lights and oncoming headlights and automatically lowers the high beams so as not to distract other drivers.
