Considering that the Subaru Forester had a fresh overhaul in 2019, the 2022 model year version will likely see few changes other than the addition of the new Forester Wilderness trim. With 9.2 inches of clearance and more shock absorption, the new Forester Wilderness will be perfect for New England drivers living on back roads or seeking adventure. Similar to the 2021 Forester, we can expect steering-responsive LED headlights, automatic high beams, a rear seat belt reminder system, and a host of changes to upper trims. The Premium trim, for instance, added in keyless entry/ignition along with fog lights. The Sport trim added blind-spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert while the Limited trim gained a simulated 7-speed manual mode for its continuously variable transmission.

Seeing as the Subaru Forester has recently received a fresh, it's unlikely that the 2022 Subaru Forester will deviate much from the 2021 model version. The 2021 Subaru Forester offers Easy Lyme drivers a single engine, which is a 2.5-liter flat-4 that makes 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. This engine pairs with a continuously variable transmission and features all-wheel drive functionality. The 2021 model year also added a manual 7-speed automatic transmission that comes with paddle shifters.
