Subaru Safety Features & Systems

Subaru is sure to never cut corners when it comes to the safety features provided in every Subaru Model Vehicle. Subaru's Ring Shaped Reinforcement Frame helps to provide high-impact protection in the event a collision is unavoidable. Numerous safety features are available on all model Subaru vehicles including Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, Vehicle Dynamics Control, Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, and Subaru's new EyeSight Driver Assist System. These Safety Systems have helped Subaru achieve IIHS Top Safety Picks for all models, three years in a row!

Subaru's EyeSight Driver-Assist System

Subaru's New EyeSight Safety System is equipped to provide Pre-Collision Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure and Sway Warnings, and Adaptive Cruse Control. The EyeSight system processes stereo images from two CCD cameras on the vehicle's windshield to identify vehicles traveling in front, as well as obstacles, traffic lanes and other items. Under certain circumstances, the EyeSight safety system is able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop to avoid a collision. By monitoring traffic lane markers and lines, the Subaru EyeSight system can detect if the car begins to wander outside the intended lane without a turn signal being used, or if the car begins to sway within the travel lane. This system can also adjust the vehicle's set cruise control to match the speed and maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
